Only the guardian who registered the candidate can ask for the candidate's date of birth to be amended. The guardian should email pretests@iseb.co.uk from the registered email address with the candidate's applicant ID and the correct date of birth to request the date of birth to be amended.

What if the incorrect date of birth is noticed at the point of testing?

When the candidate tries to log in to the tests and the Date of Birth is not accepted

  • Check the pupil is using the correct date of birth, and check they are using the format DD/MM/YYYY.
  • Check that the pupil's date of birth matches the one on their profile. Tests will be accessed with the date of birth on the applicant profile.
  • If the Date of Birth is incorrectly recorded on their applicant profile, the applicant should use the incorrect Date of Birth so they can access the test.
  • It will not make a difference to the questions they will see.
  • The invigilation centre must contact the guardian after the test is completed to request that the date of birth be amended to the correct date.
  • The parents/guardians will need to contact ISEB (from the registered email address) to make this change.
  • Once the date of birth has been amended, the age-standardised scores will then be adjusted accordingly.
  • This should also be reported on the Centre Declaration Form.
